Graph & Explorer
The switch that turns the 3D view off entirely, and what a click on a folder in the explorer does to the graph.
Settings → Graph & Explorer. Two switches, both remembered per project.
3D graph view#
On by default. Turning it off unmounts the 3D viewer completely — no rendering, no physics, no animation, no GPU work at all. It's the switch to reach for on a laptop that's getting hot, or when you simply want a plain editor.
Files still open in the code view exactly as before. What changes is what happens when you click a folder in the explorer: with 3D off, the click just selects the row. No graph opens anywhere.
Two smaller things go quiet with it: the navigation dial in the corner of the graph, and the agent's habit of showing you what it's reading by lighting up nodes and flying to them as it works. If you turn 3D off, the agent stops pointing at things.
The same switch is in the menu bar, in the 3D group — the icon whose tooltip reads
Toggle 3D graph on/off. It's not a second setting; it's this one, so flipping either moves the
other.
Note
This setting is per project. Turn the 3D view off, open a different project, and it's on again. The graph's look — its colours and presets — is shared across all your projects; the switch, and the layout and camera you leave a graph in, are remembered per project.
The 3D scene also disappears while the theme's live editor is open, which is normal and not this setting.
Explorer folders unfold the main graph#
On by default. Decides what a click on a folder in the explorer does to the graph:
- On — the folder grows in place inside the project graph, and the camera flies to it. You stay in one scene and open it up piece by piece.
- Off — the folder opens as a graph of its own, in its own tab, showing only its contents. The older behaviour, and the right one when you want a single folder isolated.
The switch is greyed out while 3D graph view is off, because then a folder click does neither.
